LAPARASCOPY
To visualize and assess the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and uterus toward diagnosing inflammation, malformations, cysts, and fibroids and to evaluate causes of infertility.

DILATION & CURETTAGE
Dilation and curettage (D&C) is a procedure done to scrape and collect endometrium, which is the tissue inside the uterus. Dilation is the widening of the cervix which allows instruments to pass into the uterus, while curettage is the scraping of the uterine walls. This procedure is performed to diagnose uterine cancer or other conditions, remove tissue after a miscarriage, treat heavy bleeding, perform an abortion or investigate infertility. It is performed under general or local anesthesia. A speculum is inserted into the vagina to hold it open, while a metal rod widens the cervix. A curette is then inserted to gently scrape the tissue. D&C can result in a puncture of the uterus or tear of the cervix, but these rarely occur.

HYSTEROSCOPY
A hysteroscopy is a procedure done to examine the lining of the uterus (endometrium) and identify, diagnose or treat abnormalities. The procedure uses a viewing tool called a hysteroscope, which has a light and camera at the end, and is inserted into the vagina and moved through the cervix to see the uterus. The hysteroscope projects an image onto a display screen for the doctor to view. The doctor may also take a small sample of tissue to examine more closely under a microscope.
A hysteroscopy may be done to determine the cause of abnormal bleeding or bleeding after menopause, determine the cause of infertility, find and remove fibroids or polyps and find and reposition an intrauterine device. A local or general anesthesia may be used to relax the patient and relieve any potential discomfort.
While this is a simple and safe procedure, a hysteroscopy is not recommended for everyone and certain conditions can affect the results or lead to side effects. Talk to your doctor if you think it may be right for you.

COLPOSCOPY
Colposcopy is a way for your doctor to use a special magnifying device to look at your vulva, vagina , and cervix . If a problem is seen during colposcopy, a small sample of tissue (biopsy) may be taken from the cervix or from inside the opening of the cervix (endocervical canal).

TUBAL LIGATION
Tubal ligation is a surgical procedure that involves blocking, tying or cutting a woman’s fallopian tubes to stop eggs from traveling into the tubes and being fertilized. It is a permanent form of birth control that prevents the woman from becoming pregnant, so you must be sure that you do not want to have any more children in the future. Tubal ligation is not 100% effective, however, and pregnancy can occur if the tubes grow back together or create a new passage. This rarely occurs and the procedure is completely effective for most women.
Tubal ligation can be performed in several ways. A laparoscopy uses a viewing instrument and is done through tiny incisions in the abdomen. A laparotomy or mini-laparotomy is a more open procedure that uses a larger incision. Full recovery usually takes about a week. Complications with this procedure are rare.

MYOMECTOMY
Myomectomy is the surgical removal of fibroids from the uterus. It allows the uterus to be left in place and, for some women, makes pregnancy more likely than before. Myomectomy is the preferred fibroid treatment for women who want to become pregnant. In our center, we use LAAM (Laparoscopic Assisted Abdominal Myomectomy) approach which is the minimally invasive procedure that require only 2 small incisions and patient can go home the same day.

OOPHORECTOMY
Oophorectomy is a surgical procedure to remove one or both of your ovaries. Your ovaries are almond-shaped organs that sit on each side of the uterus in your pelvis. Your ovaries contain eggs and produce hormones that control your menstrual cycle.
